 Epic Women 

For this project I have decided to do more research on Epic Women. My idea for this project is to have some type evil antagonists(s) and these ultimate group of Epic women characters will have to assemble to fight this force of evil. I would introduce the plot and the villain in the intro but some how transition into introudcing each of the female leads. The origin story of each female lead would be the main storybook portion of the project and the end would be them coming together and defeating the villain.

 

Sita 

I feel like she was definitely necessary for me to include! I do not know much about Indian Epics but after the reading the material for the class and other storybooks, I can for sure see that she is such a centrale female character in Indian Epics. 

I would introduce her origin although there are many stories to her actual origin. I would also include her love story and her issue with Ravana. I also might just modernize the characters but keep their pesonalities and origins the same.

 Savitri 

I was originally introduced by this character in an old story book project by Maria Dawson. 

She described her story as feminist for its time because Savitri chooses to not wait to have a husband picked for her but goes out to find herself the perfect husband. She ends up falling in love with someone of humble means and despite her fathers un -approval and the resistance met with their relationship she still chooses to be with him.  She even ends up comfrronting Yama, the god of death!

Draupadi: Fire-Born Princess

 I was really excited to learn more about Draupadi! Her OU comic book cover was pretty cool! I have not learned her origin very well yet but so far she seems very aggressive and stronged personality. I also learned she was Empress at one point! So far her story seems tragic :( she was married off to a group o five brothers and was their common wife.
